Community Corrections

Community Corrections supports the fair and equitable treatment of offenders using the least restrictive sentencing option, available treatment needs of the offender and the safety of the general public always being of paramount concern.

The case manager for each county is responsible for jail population monitoring, the identification of community corrections eligible offenders, the development of offender specific alternative sentencing plans, and the coordination and monitoring of services, including offender compliance with alternative sentencing conditions.

Eligibility Criteria:

• no pattern of assaultive behavior
• minimum and medium security
• SGL 0-18 and straddle cell offenders.

Target Population:

• Arrested for, convicted of, pled to or sentenced for OUIL, controlled substances involving possession or delivery, a technical probation violation, property offenses, and traffic offenses related to substance abuse, or a non violent misdemeanor.
• Felons with SGLs  0-3, 0-9, 0-18 and straddle cell offenders.
• Probation and parole violators.
• If in jail are classified as medium or minimum security, using the Jail Inmate Classification System.

SGL - Sentencing Guidelines  0 - ? (number of months in sentence)

straddle cell offenders - subjects who could either serve time in county jail or state prison system.
